Sr. Program Manager, Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Operational Excellence (OpEx)

Amazon Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Operational Excellence (OpEx) is seeking a Program Manager to drive continuous improvement safety projects. This role is ideal for problem solvers with skills in program management and a passion for safety excellence.

The ideal candidate will leverage extensive project management experience, analytical capabilities, and innovation to lead complex safety initiatives from conception to completion. Responsibilities include scoping project plans, developing processes, coordinating execution, and communicating status, risks, and changes to senior management. Cross-team coordination, project management, and executive communication skills are essential. Some travel may be required (up to 25%).

Responsibilities

• Manage cross-functional programs, ensuring successful delivery.
• Set clear program goals, leveraging data analytics to drive improvements and achieve metrics.
• Navigate and resolve ambiguities in business scenarios using creative problem-solving skills.
• Foster collaboration with internal and external partners to optimize resource allocation and project success.
• Evaluate and prioritize projects based on customer needs and technical team inputs.
• Bridge gaps in team dynamics, processes, and systems to prevent common project pitfalls.
• Identify and mitigate risks to prevent them from escalating into major issues.
• Regularly communicate with senior managers, business leaders, and stakeholders to support key business initiatives.
• Develop, implement, and oversee KPI reporting for a program portfolio, ensuring clear visibility of milestones and project performance.
• Manage and communicate project budgets effectively.

Requirements

• 5+ years of program or project management experience.
• Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
• Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of driving process improvements experience.
• Master’s degree or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or related field.
• Knowledge of general AI tools.
• Experience designing, implementing, and scaling upskilling, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs across large-scale operations or corporate environments, including forecasting workforce needs and leveraging analytics to drive program decisions.
