Program Manager, Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Operational Excellence (OpEx)
Amazon Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Operational Excellence (OpEx) is seeking a Program Manager (PM) to drive continuous improvement safety projects. This role is ideal for problem solvers with skills in program management and continuous improvement, as Amazon is committed to becoming the global benchmark for safety excellence.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced PM with a strong background in planning and leading safety initiatives that align with long-term business objectives. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive project management experience, analytical capabilities, and innovation to lead complex projects from conception to completion. This role requires scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating execution, and communicating status, risks, and changes to senior management. Cross-team coordination, project management, and executive communication skills are essential. Some travel may be required (no more than 25%).
Responsibilities
- Manage cross-functional programs, ensuring successful delivery.
- Set clear program goals, leveraging data analytics to drive improvements and achieve metrics.
- Navigate and resolve ambiguities in business scenarios, applying creative problem-solving skills.
- Foster collaboration with internal and external partners to optimize resource allocation and project success.
- Evaluate and prioritize projects in conjunction with customer needs and technical team inputs.
- Bridge gaps in team dynamics, processes, and systems, preventing common project pitfalls.
- Identify and mitigate risks, preventing them from escalating into major issues.
- Regularly communicate with senior managers, business leaders, and other stakeholders to support key business initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and oversee KPI reporting for a program portfolio, ensuring clear visibility of milestones and project performance.
- Manage and communicate project budgets effectively.
Requirements
- 3+ years of program or project management experience.
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookups) and SQL.
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
- Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of driving end-to-end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership.
- 3+ years of driving process improvements.
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization.
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules.
- PMP certification.

Pay
- USA, TN, Nashville: $66,800.00 - $116,800.00 USD annually.
- USA, VA, Arlington: $74,200.00 - $129,800.00 USD annually.
- USA, WA, Bellevue: $82,700.00 - $129,800.00 USD annually.
