Sr Program Manager, Long Term Planning and Forecasting
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager to own US long‑term inventory and capacity plans. As a senior leader within the Long‑Term Planning and Forecasting (LTPF) organization, you will define processes, engage business and operations stakeholders, and prepare inventory plans consumed by downstream teams. You will manage the lifecycle of a high‑visibility program, working with scientists, economists, BIEs, and engineers to architect the customer interaction experience, including viewing capabilities, auditing tools, what‑if analysis frameworks, and forecast intervention workflows.
This role is ideal if you have interest and experience in:
- Leading large, cross‑functional planning and strategy workstreams that impact Amazon’s core operations
- Working in a tech‑driven organization
- Regularly presenting to VP and SVP level leaders
- Prioritizing operational excellence alongside feature delivery on a roadmap
- Demonstrating strong business acumen with strategic, analytical, and critical thinking
- Managing planning calendars and strategic review mechanisms
- Driving organizational alignment across multiple teams and stakeholders
Key responsibilities
- Architect the customer engagement experience, ensuring business stakeholders can seamlessly view, audit, and leverage LTPF outputs for strategic planning.
- Lead innovation and use of customer‑facing tools, what‑if analysis frameworks, and forecast intervention workflows that enable the full business to incorporate strategic decisions into LTPF’s forecasts and plans.
- Serve as the strategic bridge between LTPF’s technical outputs and diverse business stakeholders.
- Own the end‑to‑end customer journey—from initial forecast consumption to what‑if scenario exploration to submitting forecast interventions.
- Gather insights, identify systemic gaps, and drive strategic initiatives to transform the experience.
- Use data‑driven insights to continuously improve how Operations, Finance, and Stores teams interact with LTPF.
- Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to determine project priorities, manage the lifecycle of complex initiatives from concept to delivery, and negotiate resources.
- Forge partnerships with Product, Tech, Science, and Operations teams to build enhanced capabilities.
- Regularly present to Directors and VPs, publish strategic planning documents, and own quarterly and annual reviews with senior leadership.
