About the Role

Manage the Amazon intermodal procurement program. This role leads the sourcing, procurement, and lifecycle management of intermodal assets — including containers, chassis, and related equipment — across Amazon's Middle Mile transportation network. It sits at the intersection of procurement strategy, vendor management, and operational execution, focusing on building demand into the supply network, negotiating with vendors, and delivering assets on time and within budget to support Amazon's rapidly scaling intermodal operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for intermodal equipment — containers, chassis, and refrigerated units — from demand forecasting through purchase order, delivery, and asset injection into the network.
  • Build relationships with OEMs, leasing partners, and service vendors, and negotiate pricing, terms, warranties, and service-level agreements to drive cost savings and secure capacity.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations on demand planning, translating network growth into accurate demand signals for vendors to build capacity.
  • Manage budgets, build business cases and CAR documentation, and track OPEX/CAPEX spend in support of OP1/OP2 and 3YF planning.
  • Lead cross-functionally to align priorities, remove blockers, and manage contract and compliance, including executing Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
  • Maintain reporting mechanisms (WBRs, MBRs, QBRs) to track fleet availability, delivery milestones, and cost performance, and communicate risks to senior leadership.
  • Drive process improvements to increase speed, reduce cost, and improve quality.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience.
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
  • Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience.
  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or related field.
  • Knowledge of general AI tools.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and scaling upskilling, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs across large-scale operations or corporate environments, including forecasting workforce needs and leveraging analytics to drive program decisions.
