About the role

The Amazon's Worldwide Retail Grocery Development (WWRGD) team is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Program Manager to join their Capital Planning team. This role supports Amazon's multi-banner grocery portfolio, working closely with Real Estate, Design, Pre-Construction, Construction, and Finance teams to ensure efficient and strategic capital stewardship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead OP1/OP2 and quarterly guidance cycles, coordinating with stakeholders and providing analyses for leadership review.

  • Own and manage the full Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) process, including CAR Funding Templates and standardized white paper formats.

  • Maintain and monitor portfolio-wide cost posture, conducting monthly Post-launch CapEx Reviews and quarterly deep dives into spending.

  • Develop and present CARs and related follow-ups, ensuring alignment with senior leadership and managing the full approval lifecycle.

  • Build repeatable processes to improve CAR creation efficiency, leveraging AI and automation tools for cost management and forecasting.

  • Establish and support capital accounts under grocery business units, enhancing speed to capital access and identifying cost reduction measures.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience.

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.

  • Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.

  • Master's degree or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or related field preferred.

  • Knowledge of general AI tools.

  • Experience in designing, implementing, and scaling upskilling, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs.
