Sr. Program Manager - Capital Planning, WWRGD
About the role
The Amazon's Worldwide Retail Grocery Development (WWRGD) team is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Program Manager to join their Capital Planning team. This role supports Amazon's multi-banner grocery portfolio, working closely with Real Estate, Design, Pre-Construction, Construction, and Finance teams to ensure efficient and strategic capital stewardship.
Responsibilities
Lead OP1/OP2 and quarterly guidance cycles, coordinating with stakeholders and providing analyses for leadership review.
Own and manage the full Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) process, including CAR Funding Templates and standardized white paper formats.
Maintain and monitor portfolio-wide cost posture, conducting monthly Post-launch CapEx Reviews and quarterly deep dives into spending.
Develop and present CARs and related follow-ups, ensuring alignment with senior leadership and managing the full approval lifecycle.
Build repeatable processes to improve CAR creation efficiency, leveraging AI and automation tools for cost management and forecasting.
Establish and support capital accounts under grocery business units, enhancing speed to capital access and identifying cost reduction measures.
Qualifications
5+ years of program or project management experience.
Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
Master's degree or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or related field preferred.
Knowledge of general AI tools.
Experience in designing, implementing, and scaling upskilling, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs.
