Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs the overall business planning, monitoring, and reporting for the Global Security Division.
- Acts as the KCNSC point of contact between external customer and internal organizations to ensure effective communication and adequate support.
- Encourages and facilitates teamwork with operations, finance, quality, program management and engineering.
- PARTNERS WITH MANAGEMENT AND OTHER FUNCTIONAL AREAS TO FORMULATE AND IMPLEMENT STRATEGIES NECESSARY TO MEET A BROAD RANGE OF COMPANY-WIDE OBJECTIVES.
- LEADS THE GLOBAL SECURITY STRATEGIC SOURCING FUNCTION, PARTNERING ON SOURCING STRATEGIES WITH PURCHASING AND THE KCNSC STRATEGIC SOURCING ORGANIZATIONS.
- LEADS AND EXECUTES DIGITAL AND OPERATIONAL STRATEGIES TO FURTHER GLOBAL SECURITY CAPABILITIES.
- OWNERSHIP OF PROGRAM AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT RELATED PROCESSES AND STANDARDS, DRIVING PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS AND EFFICIENCIES IN DIVISIONAL STANDARD WORK.
- DIRECTLY SUPERVISES EMPLOYEES AND PERFORMS OTHER MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING INTERVIEWING, HIRING, AND TRAINING EMPLOYEES; PLANNING, ASSIGNING, AND DIRECTING WORK; APPRAISING PERFORMANCE; REWARDING AND DISCIPLINING EMPLOYEES; ADDRESSING COMPLAINTS AND RESOLVING PROBLEMS.
- DEVELOPS AND IMPLEMENTS STAFFING PLANS, BUDGET PROPOSALS, EXPENSE BUDGETS, AND EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS CONSISTENT WITH ANTICIPATED WORKLOADS.
- SUPPORTS THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGIES FOR THE NSE THAT POSITION THE KCNSC TO BE MORE RESPONSIVE AND FLEXIBLE, FOCUSING ON LONG TERM IMPLEMENTATION.
- COLLABORATES WITH CURRENT AND FUTURE CUSTOMERS TO UNDERSTAND CUSTOMER NEEDS AND THEIR IMPACT ON FUTURE KCNSC PLANNING AND STRATEGIES.
- ANALYZES, INTERPRETS INFORMATION, AND ARTICULATES OBSERVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR TECHNICAL AND PROGRAMMATIC IMPACT.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Scientific, or other related field.
- 9 or more years of experience in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Science.
- 2 years experience in directly managing a team.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
- United States Citizenship.
- Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- To obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
Qualifications
- Technical understanding of Defense Program weapon systems and components along with an understanding of the NSE weapons acquisition and product realization process.
- Demonstrated history of successfully managing large projects or programs requiring direct customer management, executive leadership communication, and overall customer requirements management.
- Successful history of working with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and NSE laboratories and/or production facilities.
Skills
- Applied experience and expertise in program management processes, principles, and architecture for multiple key programs with progressive history of responsibility and leadership.
- Lear or Black Belt certified.
