Project ManagementFull-time

Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) enables customers of all sizes to run their applications on our industry-leading cloud infrastructure. As customers around the world move to the cloud, we need high-powered Product Managers to understand how customers in different geographies deploy, manage, and pay for their current infrastructure—and how EC2 should adjust our pricing, product capabilities, and positioning to fit the unique needs of our global customer base.

Customers rely on Amazon EC2 to provide elastic, high-performance, secure, and cost-effective resources to scale their infrastructure to keep up with their changing business needs. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to join the EC2 Deals Desk, helping define and build the future of cloud computing. In this role, you will shape our worldwide pricing strategy and models designed to accelerate cloud adoption, simplify complex migrations, and transition customers' financial planning from capex to opex.

As part of the AWS Private Pricing team, you will collaborate with product and engineering leaders to create the future of the computing platform. This role involves solving challenges for large and strategic customers, defining products, crafting go-to-market strategies, and championing customer needs at the highest levels of the company. You will coordinate across internal and external teams, structure solutions, prioritize roadmap features, and drive the definition of new capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Define high-quality roadmaps based on team strategy and vision.
  • Develop detailed, crisp business narratives and user stories to create pricing strategies, product specifications, and new features.
  • Build business cases, competitive analysis, pricing analysis, and financial (P&L) models.
  • Collaborate with product and service leaders, sales teams, solution architects, business development, and engineering teams to solve complex product and pricing issues.
  • Become the subject matter expert on specific services and use cases; recommend features, functionality, and tools to improve customer adoption of AWS products and services.
  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs between customer experience, performance, and operational support load.
  • Develop high-quality reporting for executive leadership.
  • Work with customers, partners, strategic sales teams, and operational stakeholders to structure solutions and prioritize product roadmap features.
  • Spearhead the definition of new capabilities through expertly crafted business requirements documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related technical field.
  • Experience owning and driving roadmap strategy and definition.
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product.

  • Experience managing technical products or online services.
  • Experience representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning.
  • Experience working with engineering and product teams to define a product and bring it to market.
  • Experience in technical product or program management.
  • Experience conversing with senior customer stakeholders, including Directors and VPs of procurement, CPOs, VPs of supply chain, and CIOs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, or QuickSight.
  • Experience building and driving adoption of new tools.
  • MBA or Master's degree.
  • Experience with financial analysis and modeling.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools.
  • Experience with coding/scripting in one or more languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Ruby, or PowerShell).
  • Experience with communication, presentation, and negotiation.
  • MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.

Pay

Base salary range: $151,200.00 - $204,600.00 USD annually (Seattle, WA). Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
