What You'll Do
- Own the compliance, safety, and fire protection roadmap across Industrial Products hardware, including utility-scale battery energy storage systems
- Monitor, interpret, and translate global regulatory requirements and industry standards into actionable product requirements and development milestones
- Work closely with hardware engineering, product management, and legal teams to integrate compliance into product development from the earliest stages
- Build and maintain relationships with third-party certification bodies, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), standards organizations, and regulatory stakeholders globally
- Manage concurrent type testing and certification programs across multiple product lines and geographies — coordinating with labs, notified bodies, and engineering teams to hit milestones
- Define and drive the fire protection and safety strategy as product configurations and deployment environments evolve globally
- Support customers and sales teams with compliance documentation, certifications, and technical guidance for project approvals and permitting
- Partner with standards bodies, certification agencies (e.g., UL, NFPA, IEEE), and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to interpret, influence, and ensure compliance with key ESS safety and regulatory codes, including UL 9540, UL 1973, NFPA 855, NFPA 70 (NEC), UL 9540A, IEC standards, and local building/fire/electrical codes
- Communicate compliance status, risks, and gaps clearly to product and executive leadership
- Track emerging requirements in key markets — North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific — and proactively plan product responses before they become commercial blockers
What You'll Bring
- 3-5+ years of experience in product management, engineering, or regulatory affairs within the energy storage, power systems, or industrial sector
- Exposure to BESS compliance, safety standards, or fire protection for energy storage systems is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with key frameworks such as NFPA 855, UL 9540/9540A, IEC 62619, and equivalent global standards; AHJ engagement experience a plus
- Experience managing concurrent certification programs across multiple product lines and geographies
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and project management skills across engineering, legal, and commercial teams
- Ability to communicate complex regulatory information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working with certification bodies (UL, TÜV, Intertek, Bureau Veritas, or equivalent) and navigating multi-jurisdictional regulatory environments
- Deeply believe in and love the compliance, safety, and compliance space for industrial products

Expected Compensation
$112,000 - $204,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
