About the Role
The Senior Product Manager serves as the North America business owner for the Wheeled portfolio, executing the product portfolio strategy. This role acts as the voice of the customer and subject matter expert for the category, maintaining awareness of relevant industry and market trends.
Responsibilities
- Support the long-term strategy and roadmap execution for the assigned portfolio.
- Support the NA Sales organization with product and portfolio knowledge to drive increased sales and profitability.
- Provide local training on the existing portfolio and new launches.
- Introduce and set up new product offers in North America, supporting technical details for sales and training materials to highlight key features and benefits.
- Track in-market product portfolio performance (value and volume), focusing on product cost and overall profitability.
- Maintain accuracy of regional business systems (REX), including article creation, data, and pricing.
- Provide input on new product development (NPD) regarding expectations of NA end-customers and channel partners.
- Continuously gather competitor intelligence, end-user product feedback, and intermediary inputs, communicating findings to key stakeholders.
- Set and maintain pricing (MSRP) of assigned products annually or as needed.
- Monitor and support cross-channel forecast and delivery of assigned products.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure product life-cycle processes are established, documented, and transitions are managed clearly.
- Optimize the portfolio by consolidating and reducing SKU count and manufacturing complexity.
- Communicate technical product information (e.g., specifications, features, competitive advantages) and facilitate testing for marketing claims.
- Assist in developing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance the end-user experience.
- Build partnerships with sales organizations to gather market feedback, assess user acceptance, and inform product improvements.
- Attend trade shows, end-user prototype testing sessions, and support pilots as needed.
- Demonstrate thought leadership on all product cases from the customer’s perspective to fulfill and enhance the brand promise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of product management or relevant experience (e.g., marketing, sales, engineering, project management).
- Strong track record driving profitable growth through product development in complex, multi-layered (B2B) sales channels.
- Familiarity with the product development lifecycle process.
- Outdoor power equipment industry experience is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours, including overtime and weekends, and travel up to 25% to domestic and international sites.
