  • Collaborate closely with the German HQ R&D team for platform alignment and D-FMEA approvals. Interface with the Juarez, Mexico production team to ensure Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) and smooth localization of production lines.
  • Oversee local prototype builds, sample portfolios, and product validation testing requirements. Assist with root-cause analysis for pre-production or series production issues.
  • Assist in evaluating regional suppliers and identifying design-to-cost opportunities for localized production.
  • Create and manage engineering release data and technical specifications in alignment with global division processes and ISO/IATF quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
  • At least 5 years of combined experience in R&D and/or application engineering in the automotive industry.
  • Proficient in CAD, component design, assembly creation, drawing creation/approval, and tolerance calculations.
  • Experience with fluid systems (mechanical/electrical pumps). Understanding of thermal management systems, electric motors, and electronics is highly preferred.
  • Experience with automotive product testing and validation processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated success collaborating across multicultural, cross-regional teams.
  • Business fluency in English is required.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel will be needed to support customers or visit other Nidec entities.
