About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This team supports all AWS data centers and the equipment that ensures customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. They work on complex problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and are looking for talented individuals to help.
Responsibilities
- Support the Data Center Design Engineering, Principal Engineering, and Hardware Engineering teams to design and develop innovative concepts into new products needed for power distribution for data center.
- Lead new product design, development, and work with internal teams to understand design requirements and solicit customer input.
- Collaborate with other disciplines such as mechanical and structural engineering, reliability, QA/QC and compliance to create well thought out products.
- Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment, devices and bill of materials.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes across different countries.
- Prepare, Review and approval of product design and drawings including electrical bill of materials, configuration, layouts, assembly, construction and electrical wiring drawings.
- Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during manufacturing phases.
- Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to properly set up test processes and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical products.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 8+ Years of experience of Electrical Infrastructure Design; OR 8+ years of Data Center or Mission-Critical Design, Construction, or Operations
Qualifications
- Professional Engineering or Architectural License
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
Skills
- Design electrical power distribution products and equipment
- Help to successfully test the products per latest codes and standards using third party test laboratories
- Define equipment specifications and evaluate the merit of design changes
- Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment, devices and bill of materials
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes across different countries
- Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to properly set up test processes and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical products

Pay
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.

- USA, TX, Austin - 136,600.00 - 184,800.00 USD annually
- USA, VA, Herndon - 136,600.00 - 184,800.00 USD annually
