About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The Electrical Product Engineering team is a part of a global engineering team responsible for the design and continuous innovation for products used within our rapidly expanding data center footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Data Center Design Engineering, Principal Engineering, and Hardware Engineering teams to design and develop innovative concepts into new products needed for power distribution for data center.
  • Lead new product design, development and work with internal teams to understand design requirements and solicit customer input.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines such as mechanical and structural engineering, reliability, QA/QC and compliance to create well thought out products.
  • Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment, devices and bill of materials.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes across different countries.
  • Prepare, Review and approval of product design and drawings including electrical bill of materials, configuration, layouts, assembly, construction and electrical wiring drawings.
  • Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during manufacturing phases.
  • Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to properly set up test processes and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • 8+ Years of experience of Electrical Infrastructure Design; OR 8+ years of Data Center or Mission-Critical Design, Construction, or Operations

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering or Architectural License
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
  • Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

Skills

  • Hands-on experience in new product design and development of electrical power distribution equipment
  • Design electrical power distribution products and equipment
  • Help to successfully test the products per latest codes and standards using third party test laboratories
  • Directly lead product design and development
  • Drive continuous advancements and improvements with your designs

Pay

Base salary range for this position is listed below. USA, OH, COLUMBUS - 136,600.00 - 184,800.00 USD annually
USA, TX, Austin - 136,600.00 - 184,800.00 USD annually

Schedule

Travel will be necessary but shouldn't be more than 30% and will be primarily domestic, but could include some international travel.
