About the role
The Senior Procurement Specialist will work with Procurement Leadership to ensure the procurement of goods and services required by the Agua Caliente Casinos is completed in a timely, efficient manner, and in accordance with company policy. The role involves assigned buying responsibilities based on commodity, service type, and/or department, serving as a liaison between the Procurement & Sourcing Manager, Procurement Supervisors, and the Contract/Program Administrator to assist with sourcing program implementation and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all purchases comply with established procedures and/or contractual agreements.
- Obtain competitive bids for goods and services for off-contract purchases as defined by company/departmental policy.
- Issue and expedite purchase orders for goods and services needed at Agua Caliente Casino Rancho Mirage and Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs.
- Determine vendor selection based on quality, service, and price, focusing on delivering the greatest value for the company.
- Track supplier performance, including on-time deliveries, fill rates, product specifications, and value-added alternatives.
- Assist internal customers with product specification development.
- Identify cost savings and process efficiency opportunities in coordination with Procurement & Sourcing Manager and Procurement Supervisors.
- Provide timely and accurate communication to internal customers and company management.
- Perform other job-related duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Hotel Administration, Business, or Accounting/Finance preferred.
- Five years of procurement experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Purchasing is a plus.
Working Conditions
- Ability to stand, move, and work throughout the office and properties, including walking up to 1 mile, climbing stairs, and sitting at a desk/workstation for extended periods.
- Office environment with moderate noise levels, escalating in casino areas.
- Must be able to grasp, bend, lift, and/or carry goods weighing up to 30 pounds intermittently.
- Sufficient dexterity to use office equipment, including computers, calculators, and multi-line telephones.
Access to sensitive areas and information is required. Purchase orders may be issued within applicable internal controls.
