Job Summary
Dayton Parts, Driven by Dorman is looking for a Sr. Procurement Specialist who will provide procurement direction to the Cross-Functional Teams and Procurement Department to ensure optimal sourcing decisions for complex and/or critical categories with little to no oversight. Must be able to perform and respond in an extremely fast-paced, flexible, team-oriented, and collaborative environment. This is a hybrid role based in Colmar, PA.
Primary Duties
- Develop strategic initiatives that monitor and improve Supplier performance by creating and executing corrective action and continuous improvement plans.
- Keeping Asia Contributors aware and involved in our sourcing strategies and leveraging them when necessary.
- Challenging the suppliers on costing when appropriate.
- Stocking program management, optimization and recommendations.
- ROI procurement decisions- challenging decisions where appropriate.
- Work with planning to recommend any hedge buy/ safety stock updates/ mrp controller changes based on supplier knowledge.
- Identify and develop sourcing plans for key commodities and/or products using strategic thinking and cross functional collaboration.
- Identify and deliver cost reduction commitments through the identification and development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Evaluate and select suppliers to support both new product development and cost savings initiatives based on total cost and performance analysis.
- Identify and negotiate with suppliers to provide the best pricing, serviceability and quality leveraging tools such as commodity trends and market conditions.
- Support development and deployment of a Supplier Relationship Management program to manage all interactions with suppliers and ensures alignment with company and product strategies.
Qualifications
- Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, resourceful, and work well within a team environment.
- Ability to initiate, communicate, and take action to resolve issues both internally and externally.
- Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of data.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite – Advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Proficiency within ERP/MRP environments.
- Ability to integrate with the cultural environment of the global supply base and Dorman international Offices.
- Ability to network within a cross-functional environment.
- Must adhere to and maintain ethical business standards and make unbiased business decisions.
- Experience with manufacturing processes, SAP, Business Objects, and Automotive/Electronics background preferred.
Working Conditions
- Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 20 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen.
- Noise level is usually moderate.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with concentration in one or more of the following disciplines: Management, Supply Chain, Operations, Business.
- 3-5 years' experience as a business professional or military office.
Pay & Benefits
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $83,600 to $124,300. This role is also eligible for a bonus.
