Sr. Process Specialist - Emergency Medical Services

Maintains contact with individuals and/or insurance companies regarding outstanding claims

  • Responds to insurance company explanation of benefits
  • Appeals denials of claims in writing or over telephone; correct and rebills rejected claims
  • Releases medical records to patient or responsible party
  • Reviews patients medical accounts; maintains accurate records/reports in accordance to department, state and federal laws

Collects fees and makes change

  • Reconciles and balances money accounts

Performs general clerical duties

  • Typing
  • Filing
  • Preparing reports

Develops payment arrangements

  • With patient or other responsible party

Assists walk-in patients, vendors and other department employees

  • Answers incoming telephone calls and routes incoming calls
  • Assists other employees with duties
  • Reviews work of other employees

Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management

  • During a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 5 years job related experience
  • Bookkeeping and accounting skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees an elected officials
  • Bilingual preferred

STARTING SALARY RANGE

$18.31 - $22.89 hourly based on qualifications
