About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Process Safety Specialist to join their team. You will be responsible for implementing the Process Safety Management programs, policies and procedures for the Engineering and Construction Group and domestic pipeline and terminal within. This role can be located at Houston, TX; Allentown, PA; East Chicago, IN; Port Reading, NJ; or Tampa, FL. On site Tu-Th and remote Mon and Fri.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Asset Maintenance Plan: Working with domestic Operations and E&C groups in developing five year Asset Maintenance Plan.
- Risk Reduction: Identifying, assessing and documenting of HSSE risk reduction and control strategies for significant hazards.
- Program Stewardship: Planning, organizing, leading assessment and controlling activities such as HAZOP, PHA, MOC and facility siting/layout studies.
- Process Development and Improvements: Supporting and facilitating the PSM process to include domestic pipeline/terminal Operations, E&C Group, and Corporate HSSE Teams, driving the Process Hazard Assurance by preparing site projects for internal and corporate Process Safety inspections and facilitating the Apollo Process Hazards Assessment Process.
- Training: Training and mentoring staff on new and or modified procedures.
- Audits: Auditing and enforcing compliance with procedures and processes.
- And other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of a BS in Engineering, Health and Safety or advance degree.
- Minimum 3-10 years' experience in Petrochemical industry, oil and gas applying principles and practices of risk assessment, safety engineering and hazard management.
- Experience in technical safety, systems safety, process safety tools and techniques such as Apollo PHA, HAZOP, HAZID or Quantitative Risk Assessment.
Qualifications
- Industry specific certifications helpful.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, presentation and strong interpersonal skills.
- As a service-oriented job, the position requires a great deal of scheduling flexibility and responsiveness.
- Ability to handle confidential matters in a tactful and professional manner.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Compliance with all personnel policies.
Pay & Schedule
- $50-$55/HR (depends on experience level).
- This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/week.
