Sr. Principal Reliability & Maintainability Systems Engineer

This position will be located onsite in Melbourne, FL, and is 100% on-site work within the Product Support organization performing System Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineering Analysis.
Responsibilities
- Establish, monitor, and verify subsystem R&M performance requirements for all design changes and new development efforts to ensure that R&M program requirements are achieved
- Perform R&M allocations and predictions
- Develop Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
- Perform Built In Test (BIT) testability analysis
- Develop mission reliability analysis
- Support the development of teams in the investigation of issues
- Liaise with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and suppliers for the R&M of assigned subsystems
- Collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers
- Develop, coordinate and conduct technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs
- Recommend design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability
- Compile and analyze performance reports and process control statistics; investigate and analyze relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes
- Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards
- Analyze preliminary plans and develop reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives
- May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks
- Propose changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability
- May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specify minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of engineering experience
- OR Master’s Degree in STEM and 6 years of engineering experience
- OR PhD with 1 year of engineering experience
- Experience in Reliability and Maintainability discipline
- Ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated US Government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering or similar Engineering Degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience within Reliability and Maintainability discipline
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
- Active, in-scope US Government Top Secret or SCI clearance

Pay
Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 – $184,200.00. Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
