About the Role
The Sr Pricing Analyst is responsible for driving the analysis and execution of Price Optimization. This position requires exceptionally strong analytical and math skills, along with a focus on detailed execution of processes. The role partners with Merchandising, Marketing, Stores, and the Information Systems team to drive change management throughout the company. This is a hybrid position reporting to the support center at Legacy West in Plano, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Price Execution Analysis (40%):
- Leverage data-driven insights to create and execute pricing scenarios, ensuring alignment with sales and margin optimization goals.
- Analyze pricing performance against set objectives, providing recommendations to improve outcomes.
- Utilize internal systems and tools to implement pricing strategies and monitor results, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Analyze pricing performance data and ensure pricing accuracy, making data-driven adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Operations, and IT to continuously refine and optimize pricing execution based on ongoing analysis.
- Develop automated reporting tools to track key pricing metrics and ensure timely decision-making.
- Regular Price Strategy and Analysis (40%):
- Conduct in-depth pricing analysis using data analysis, financial modeling, and competitive insights to refine pricing strategies that drive sales and margin growth.
- Use A/B testing, price elasticity models, and historical data to recommend and implement pricing strategies for various categories and regions.
- Evaluate the impact of price changes and promotional strategies, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze competitive pricing data and market conditions, recommending adjustments to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Provide senior leadership with actionable insights through data visualizations and reports, helping to drive strategic pricing decisions.
- Clearance Price Strategy and Analysis (10%):
- Collaborate with Merchandising and Inventory Management teams to develop and optimize clearance pricing strategies, using historical performance data and market conditions.
- Provide data-driven recommendations on clearance strategies for not-on-POG items.
- Track and report on the effectiveness of clearance strategies, adjusting pricing as needed to maximize margin and reduce excess inventory.
- Strategic Pricing Initiatives (10%):
- Lead and/or support cross-functional projects, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to improve pricing processes, tools, and strategies to drive efficiency and enhance pricing capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Math, or Finance.
- 3-5 years of business experience; retail or consumer products experience is a plus, but complex analytical experience is a priority.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Proven experience with pricing systems and tools (e.g., Nielsen, Revionics, PROS) preferred.
- Ability to build strong business relationships with key partners.
- Strong skills in presenting a point of view and persuading other functions to support your program.

Schedule
Hybrid schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at the Sally Beauty Support Center, Legacy West (Plano, TX); remote Thursday and Friday.
Working Conditions
The typical working environment is in the support center office, and the work is sedentary. The associate may sit comfortably to perform the job, though occasional tasks may involve walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, or driving to store locations. The work environment includes standard safety precautions typical of offices, meeting rooms, and retail stores.
