This is an onsite position at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, the largest hospital in Missouri and a top-ranked facility by U.S. News & World Report. Team members work alongside world-renowned surgeons and anesthesiologists, assist on complex procedures, and contribute to developing new treatment protocols.

About the Role

Manages or provides in-depth process improvement and transformation expertise for project teams, process owners, operations, leadership, and stakeholders to achieve engagement goals and operational performance objectives. Assignments vary in scope, complexity, and strategic alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and manages tasks related to Six Sigma, Lean, rapid improvement events, and associated activities.
  • Leads project scoping, planning, execution, analysis, and tracking.
  • Manages change management, team facilitation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Conducts data collection, analysis, and risk/issue identification and mitigation.
  • Develops stakeholder tollgates and reports.
  • Trains teams in continuous improvement methodologies and transformation core competencies.
  • Defines and measures problems, undesired outcomes, and metrics in complex operations, including voice of the customer, data collection, value stream mapping, and stakeholder assessments.
  • Leads gap analysis between current and future states using advanced data, statistical techniques, and Lean/Six Sigma methods.
  • Facilitates complex rapid improvement events for value stream analysis, standard work, workflow optimization, waste reduction, error-proofing, and workplace organization.
  • Identifies best countermeasures and solutions to address root causes.
  • Provides expert advice for rollouts, implementation, and sustainment/control plans.
  • Ensures project management best practices, including approvals, charters, schedules, resource assignments, risk mitigation, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Completes and manages reports, dashboards, and stakeholder communications.

Requirements

  • Nursing background in IR, ICU, ED, or trauma with trauma patient experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree (required).
  • 2–5 years of experience (required).
  • Master’s degree (preferred).
  • 5–10 years of experience (preferred).
  • 2–5 years of supervisory experience (preferred).
  • Certifications in Lean/Six Sigma, PMI, or Project Management (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • ATCN provider/instructor.
  • TNCC provider/instructor.
  • ATLS course coordinator.
  • PHTLS provider/instructor.
