Sr. Pharmacist BWFH

About the role

The Senior Pharmacist is responsible for processing medication orders, providing medications, and offering drug consultations. They also represent the Pharmacy on various programs and perform necessary record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Captures daily workload to align with department needs
• Verifies medication fills in various storage locations
• Prepares and processes intravenous admixtures
• Manages a sufficient number of prescriber medication orders
• Offers drug consultations to healthcare personnel and patients
• Detects and documents adverse drug events
• Carries out and documents targeted drug interventions
• Maintains necessary records
• Trains Pharmacy staff and other healthcare personnel
• Safeguards drugs and controls throughout the day
• Completes assigned medication inventory tasks
• Performs extra duties as requested by the Pharmacy Director and/or Assistant Director

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate (or higher) degree in Pharmacy from an approved school of pharmacy
• Current registration as a Pharmacist in the State of Massachusetts, with no disciplinary actions taken
• Experience in hospital pharmacy is required
