Sr. Pharmacist

Job Summary

Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a Sr. Pharmacist for a contract position in Portland, OR. The role requires Epic experience and inpatient pharmacy experience. Board certification (BCPS) is preferred but not required. Weekend coverage is needed.

About the Role

The facility is part of a larger healthcare network that includes a 302-bed hospital, medical offices, home care services, and comprehensive cancer care. The area offers a mix of urban amenities and natural beauty, with opportunities for outdoor activities.

Responsibilities

• Processes, enters, verifies and sends medication orders within the institution in compliance with department/hospital policies and regulations.
• Ensures medication therapy is safe, effective, and cost-efficient.
• Conducts and manages daily reports on medication utilization to identify areas needing improvement.
• Performs quality assurance procedures in related work areas.
• Participates in pharmacy-related tasks such as clinical rounds, emergency department coverage, and short-staffed areas.
• Expedites changes needed to meet regulatory, accrediting, licensing, and governmental standards.
• Collaborates with leadership to purchase, contract, and procure medications and related supplies.
• Aids in making recommendations for process improvements or new pharmacy services.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of pharmacy
• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy preferred
• Two years' technical experience preferred
• Two years' experience as a clinical pharmacist specializing in a regulatory area preferred
• One year's hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Pharmacist license in the state of practice required

Qualifications

• Experience with Epic software
• Inpatient pharmacy experience
• Board certification (BCPS) preferred
• Knowledge of drug formularies and safety standards
• Ability to perform quality assurance procedures
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
