About the role
This position reports to our company's Controller and will play a crucial role in managing and executing all payroll functions.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for 900+ employees across both bi-weekly and weekly schedules
- Oversee compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Ensure the integrity of employee payroll records such as taxes withheld and deducts (401(k), benefits, etc)
- Collaborate with HR department to ensure accurate and timely input of employee data into payroll system
- Continuously review and improve payroll processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Address and resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues in a timely manner
- Manage and train payroll team members to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain confidentiality of all payroll information
- Develop and implement effective payroll policies and procedures
- Prepare and submit quarterly and annual payroll tax filings
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
- Provide excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries
- Other projects assigned by CFO and Controller
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study (accounting, finance, health care, human resources, etc.)
- 5+ years of progressive payroll experience
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Must sit in Augusta GA office
- Proven success in processing efficiency
- Knowledge of Rippling payroll software preferred
- Ability to utilize new tools and technologies in a rapidly growing environment
- Strong knowledge of payroll and payroll tax principles, regulations and procedures
- Staying current on industry trends, standards, and practices
