We are looking for an experienced Sr. Payroll Administrator to oversee high-volume payroll operations for a large, multi-state workforce, utilizing Paylocity. This role is ideal for someone who can manage complex pay cycles, protect data accuracy, and ensure compliance with applicable wage and hour regulations. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted payroll resource across the organization, balancing technical expertise with responsive employee support.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for more than 1,300 employees across bi-weekly, semi-monthly, multi-state, and off-cycle payroll schedules.
- Review, enter, validate, and finalize payroll information to ensure timely and accurate pay while meeting federal, state, and local compliance standards.
- Act as a key payroll expert for employee onboarding activities, payroll setup, and ongoing maintenance of payroll data accuracy.
- Produce and analyze detailed payroll reporting to support accounting activities, benefits administration, audits, and deferred compensation needs.
- Maintain complete and well-organized payroll documentation in alignment with internal control practices and regulatory recordkeeping requirements.
- Respond to payroll questions from employees, managers, and HR partners with professionalism, clear communication, and practical problem-solving.
- Investigate and resolve escalated payroll discrepancies, providing guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Support payroll-related system administration and help ensure configurations reflect current pay practices and business requirements.
Requirements
- 3+ years of multi-state payroll experience
