About the role

This position is hybrid and will work 3 days at WDH in Dover, NH on-site and 2 days remote. The days of the week on site are flexible. The ideal candidate will have previous Patient Safety/Risk experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Department Chairs and Patient Care Services to facilitate the internal medical peer review process and assist in analyzing serious patient concerns and adverse events.
  • Participate in the analysis of adverse events and serious patient concerns and assist in preparation for regulatory or accreditation agency visits.
  • Maintain confidentiality of peer review, performance improvement, and risk management information.
  • Help recommend corrective and preventive actions to reduce risk and support interventions in collaboration with CRICO and hospital-based improvement teams.
  • Help identify barriers to implementing the improvement plan and collaborate with hospital leaders to develop strategies to overcome them.
  • Provide education and support to nurses, physicians, and committees on patient safety topics, including non-punitive reporting and error prevention.
  • Contribute to the orientation and ongoing training of department staff as directed.
  • Aid in preparing presentations for committees and clinical groups under the guidance of the Patient Safety Manager and clinical leaders.
  • Must be available to work in the case of a hospital-declared emergency.
  • Must be available to assist during regulatory agency reviews.

Requirements

No experience in lieu of a degree is accepted. Requires experience with computer and Internet, 1-2 years, and Healthcare experience with clinical background 1-2 years preferred and Experience working in a large healthcare organization 1-2 years preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy required or Bachelor's Degree Physical Therapy required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required.

  • Presentation skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office products is essential for success in this position (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
