About the role
We provide excellent customer service to patients and guests, whether via telephone or in person. Our goal is to ensure patients understand their financial responsibility and resolve any issues that arise during their medical experience.
Responsibilities
- Explains insurance benefits and collects co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay portions due, and informs the patient of their financial responsibility.
- Researches and resolves complaints regarding customer service, registration, authorization, or scheduling.
- Maintains team productivity and accuracy by monitoring work queues and addressing any issues.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, ensuring privacy and clear communication.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Associates degree preferred.
- 3 years direct experience in hospital, clinic, or similar healthcare environment.
Qualifications
- Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer skills required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
- Knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws applicable to the healthcare industry.
