Responsibilities
- Source DG community solar and storage acquisition opportunities through direct developer outreach, brokers, and market intelligence.
- Build and maintain developer and intermediary relationships to generate proprietary and repeat deal flow.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of state programs, incentives, interconnection dynamics, and development risks to quickly assess deal fit.
- Translate market and program dynamics into commercially viable deal structures.
- Partner with the commercial analysis team to evaluate opportunities using internal financial models and valuation frameworks.
- Apply commercial judgment to key assumptions, risks, and structures to determine competitive bid strategies.
- Serve as the primary seller-facing lead and drive commercial negotiations through term sheet execution and exclusivity.
- Cook up internal alignment across pricing, project finance, legal, and execution teams during the front-end phase.
- Prepare and present front-end Investment Committee materials, including investment rationale, valuation highlights, and key risks.
- Support limited early-stage diligence prior to handoff to transaction and execution teams.
- Maintain long-term relationships with developers, brokers, and advisors to support repeatable acquisition channels.
- Track market activity and counterparties to inform origination strategy and pipeline planning.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of direct experience in renewable energy acquisitions, origination, development, M&A, or project finance, with exposure to DG community solar and/or distributed storage.
- Proven ability to source deals, exercise commercial judgment, lead negotiations, and communicate effectively with counterparties and internal stakeholders.
- Comfort working with financial models and translating valuation outputs into deal strategy.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Willingness to travel (10%) and attend industry events across the U.S.
