Our Senior Operations Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operations objectives at the site. This role oversees all aspects of operations or functions, manages and leads a team of Operations and Area Managers, and ensures performance objectives are met through coaching and mentoring.
Responsibilities
- Drives quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and Lean initiatives to meet and exceed business plan goals.
- Responsible for overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of Inbound or Outbound operations.
- Sets and clarifies requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers.
- Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds managers accountable for their departments.
- Sources and nurtures ideas from Operations and Area Managers to create improvement plans for the functional area.
- Shares best practices across departments, shifts, and the network.
- Collaborates with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Senior Operations Managers) to secure resources for projects and initiatives.
Additional Job Elements
- Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each.
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
- Walking frequently in facilities over a quarter mile in length.
- Continual standing and/or walking an average of 5 miles daily.
- Ability to work in noisy, unlit, unheated, or non-air-conditioned construction/distribution environments.
- Able to access all areas of the building, including ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Work flexible hours, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.
- 7+ years of direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in manufacturing, production, or distribution.
- Prior experience with the full staffing lifecycle: interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and termination.
- Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple fulfillment centers.
- Degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons.
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
Pay
Base salary range: $135,000.00 – $182,700.00 USD annually.
