Our Sr. Operations Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operations objectives at the site. This role oversees all aspects of operations or functions, leading a team of Operations and Area Managers while coaching and mentoring to ensure performance objectives are met. The position focuses on building positive employee relations and developing leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.
Responsibilities
- Drives creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Lean initiatives to enable functional areas and the Fulfillment Center to meet and exceed business plans.
- Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations.
- Sets and clarifies requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers.
- Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds Ops Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments.
- Leverages Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, rolling them into improvement plans for the functional area.
- Takes proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and the network.
- Works closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Sr. Operations Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.
Additional Job Elements
- Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each.
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
- Walking in the FC and around the area with great frequency; facilities are over a quarter mile in length.
- Continual standing and/or walking an average of 5 miles daily.
- Ability to work in construction/distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, or not air-conditioned.
- Able to access all areas of the building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways safely and without limitation).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production, distribution, or logistics environment.
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies.
- Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations.
- Flexibility to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
- Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple Fulfillment Centers across the nation.
- Prior leadership development training or participation.
- Track record of effectively leading an operation comprising both salaried and hourly staff of at least 100.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully develop others into higher levels of leadership in an organization.
Pay
USA, TX, Katy - $135,000.00 - $182,700.00 USD annually.
