Sr. Operations Engineer, Urban Fulfilment, Amazon Now Design

Responsibilities

  • Work with key stakeholders on the criteria for design and expansion
  • Create and maintain optimal drawings of material handling equipment, work areas, and storage equipment
  • Design and optimize the delivery and sortation network
  • Enable operations processes to meet safety, customer experience, quality, and cost goals
  • Generate and implement design process with an aim to articulate operational and safety criteria in design development
  • Review design and supporting technical documents for approvals
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and optimize existing designs
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and leaders through business reviews and white papers

Requirements

  • 5+ years of directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects experience
  • 5+ years of Reliability Program Manager experience
  • 5+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
  • 5+ years of maintenance or engineering experience
  • 2+ years of commercial CO2 refrigeration applications experience
  • 5+ years of directly managing and being responsible for multiple large projects experience
  • 3+ years of in material handling equipment (MHE) or automation environments experience, or experience in reliability/maintenance environments
  • 3+ years of leading cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and field execution through launch readiness and go-live phases experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (Reliability Maintenance Engineering) experience
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or Business Administration, or Master's degree or above in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
  • Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other operations engineer tools
  • Experience building launch readiness frameworks, standard work, playbooks, and scalable deployment mechanisms across multiple concurrent sites
  • Experience with performance metrics such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), downtime, throughput, or quality
  • Experience in Amazon RME (Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering), fulfillment operations, or automation deployment environments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Master's degree or above in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or Business Administration, or Master's degree or above in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
  • 3+ years of in material handling equipment (MHE) or automation environments experience, or experience in reliability/maintenance environments
