Sr Oncology Specialist - Sapphire – Richmond, CA
About the role
The Senior Oncology Specialist plays a crucial role as the primary liaison between Amgen and medical professionals. They are responsible for providing comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen's products and communicating their clinical and economic benefits.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following-up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, ensuring product access, resolving/retrieving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Craft an effective marketing strategy to drive sales.
- Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Persist with passion throughout the sales cycle, building the brand, and never losing sight of how we serve patients.
- Partner with other colleagues to share best practices and continuously learn to grow as a Senior Oncology Specialist.
- Leverage passion for Oncology and disease state awareness, industry, regulatory, and competitive changes to deliver agreed results.
Requirements
Preferred experience in Oncology, three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries, product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology and inflammation, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases, and local market knowledge.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related OR High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.

Pay
The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $140,465 to $190,041. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
