About the role
The Senior Oncology Specialist plays a crucial role as the primary liaison between Amgen and medical professionals. They provide comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen's products and effectively communicate their clinical and economic benefits.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following-up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, ensuring product access, resolving/retrieving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Craft an effective marketing strategy to drive sales.
- Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Possess the passion for Amgen's products throughout the entire sales cycle, building the brand, and never losing sight of how we serve patients.
- Partner with other colleagues to share best practices and continuously learn to grow as a Senior Oncology Specialist.
- Leverage passion for Oncology and disease state awareness, industry, regulatory, and competitive changes to deliver agreed results.
Requirements
Minimum Education Required: High School/GED. Preferred Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
- Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
- High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
- Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
- Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology and inflammation, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases, and the diseases and treatments involved with these specialties.
- Local market knowledge.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration preferred.

Pay
The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $140,465 to $190,041. Actual salary varies based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
