Primary Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, maintain, and continuously improve the network's operations across Rincon and the customer systems we support.
- Execute and manage monthly operations cycles, monitoring, maintenance, compliance, and optimization of networking infrastructure.
- Proactively plan and execute network upgrades, capacity improvements, and technology evolutions.
- Implement system-level security controls and perform day-to-day security operations of the network.
- Create and maintain documentation, including user guides, knowledge base articles, change requests, and system maintenance records.
- Establish and maintain standards of network administration and development practices, such as technical design, solution development, systems configuration, and operations procedures.
- Monitor, manage, and report on information system performance, security, availability, and recoverability.
- Collaborate across other IT functions (Infrastructure, Security, Windows, Linux, Service Desk) and external vendors for issue resolution.
Required Background
- Active TS/SCI + Poly Security Clearance
- US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
- Certification Requires security certification in compliance with DOD 8570 within 90 days of hire
- Requires professional certification in one or more areas within 6 months of hire
- Examples include CCNA, AWS Associate, or role-relevant Windows or Linux certifications.
Education, Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline.
- Can be substituted with 5+ years of experience.
- PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Advanced understanding of enterprise-level campus and data center network design and optimization.
- Experience managing and maintaining Cisco, Arista, and VPN hardware.
- Experience supporting and operating within air-gapped environments and segmented networks.
- Working experience in building, monitoring, and optimizing VPN topologies (Full Mesh, Point-to-Point, Hub and Spoke), both on-site and across different geographic locations.
- Experience in configuring and troubleshooting advanced networking protocols, including SDWAN, Multicast, VLANs, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Spanning Tree, and others.
- Experience in monitoring network performance (latency, bandwidth utilization, packet loss).
- Experience collaborating with external partners, customers, and network providers.
- Experience with documenting network infrastructure, maintaining configuration baselines.
- Experience in asset lifecycle management and IPAM processes to ensure operational visibility and compliance.
- Advanced experience with security implementation to create and maintain compliance baselines.
- Hands-on experience automating network deployment and day-to-day operational tasks to improve efficiency and consistency with configuration management concepts and tooling, including CI/CD platforms with GitLab.
- Experience with scripting or programming skills in a language such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Go.
- Experience with a configuration management tool such as Ansible or Puppet.
- Familiarity with Linux-based systems administration (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky).
