About The Role

We are hiring a Senior Mobile Engineer to help build and scale Rula’s patient-facing mobile applications. You'll own the end-to-end delivery of impactful features across iOS and Android using React Native, partnering closely with Product, Design, and backend engineers to create intuitive, reliable experiences that make mental health care more accessible. You'll help evolve our mobile architecture, improve engineering quality through testing and performance optimizations, and mentor teammates while contributing to the long-term success of our mobile platform.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery of impactful mobile features from design through release and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and backend engineers to create intuitive, reliable mobile experiences.
• Evolve mobile architecture and improve engineering quality through testing and performance optimizations.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to the long-term success of the mobile platform.
• Make tradeoffs and communicate rationale for project decisions.
• Surface risks early and contribute to clear scope and estimates.
• Support junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years building production mobile applications.
• 3+ years of experience with React Native, TypeScript, and modern React development.
• Experience shipping mobile features end-to-end, from design through release and monitoring.
• Working knowledge of native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java).
• Experience owning projects from design through delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners.
• Proven ability to mentor and support junior engineers.
• Fluent with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) and able to articulate their benefits and risks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience publishing and maintaining apps on the App Store and Google Play.
• Experience with mobile CI/CD and automated release pipelines.
• Experience building AI-powered or LLM-enabled mobile features.
• Familiarity with mobile observability and crash reporting tools (e.g., Datadog, Crashlytics, Sentry).
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
