Sr Mgr, Technical Project Management
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Cast and third-party project managers and managers of project management to deliver large-scale programs with operational excellence.
- Lead hiring, onboarding, retention, and succession planning for the team — building a diverse bench of project management talent.
- Sponsor process improvements and drive adoption of Agile, Scrum, and AI-assisted delivery practices across the team.
- Set performance expectations, deliver feedback and reviews, and identify training needs to grow the practice.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Program Planning & Delivery
- Lead cross-functional programs through the full delivery lifecycle — from scope definition, estimation, and planning workshops through execution, change control, and closure — ensuring on-time, on-budget, on-scope delivery.
- Own program resource assignment, budget, scheduling, scope prioritization, and risk management; escalate issues for timely resolution and prevent scope creep through disciplined change control.
- Use delivery metrics — velocity, burn-down/burn-up, cycle time, OKRs, and program health dashboards — to drive performance, efficiency, and forecast accuracy.
- Partner with engineering leadership to integrate AI, automation, and modern engineering principles into delivery workflows.
- Support RFI/RFP processes to select vendor and systems integrator partners, collaborate with Sourcing and Legal on SOW and contract structure aligned to project milestones, and validate vendor payments against milestone completion and quality.
Stakeholder & Financial Communication
- Communicate regular program updates to project and executive leadership — covering delivery progress, plan changes, budget spend and forecast, and risks — through status reports, variance reporting, and executive briefings.
- Partner with Portfolio and Finance to maintain accurate forecasts and enable informed investment decisions.
- Serve as the primary liaison among Product Management, Design, Engineering, vendors, and other key delivery partners.
- Establish and maintain project financial forecasts, including resource plans and expense plans, in partnership with functional leads.
- Ensure proper program closure including retrospectives, lessons learned, hand-off to production operations, and final financial reporting.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 10+ years of experience in technical program or project management, including at least 5 years in a people-leadership role managing large, multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven track record managing multiple concurrent projects and full software delivery lifecycles in a matrixed organization.
- Direct accountability for project budgets and budget roll-up across a portfolio of programs.
- Significant practical experience in the fundamentals of project management (estimation, planning, resource planning, risk, issue, and change management) with proven proficiency in Agile/Scrum; experience with scaled frameworks (SAFe, LeSS) a plus.
- Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with AI-assisted delivery tooling and a track record of applying it to advanced project management use cases — such as end-of-sprint reporting, PI health assessments, predictive trend and risk analysis, and program health analytics — to drive faster, better-informed delivery decisions.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder programs across competing priorities, dependencies, and shifting business needs.
- Excellent business communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, with confidence presenting to and partnering with senior executive leadership (Directors, VPs, and SVPs).
- Sound judgment on when to seek guidance and when to escalate, with a proactive, solution-oriented approach to issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently while sustaining high productivity in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study or equivalent work experience; Master’s Degree a plus.
