About the role
Oversee and manage resources and efficient processes for a large, complex distribution center operation.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and loading of all customer orders.
- Establish operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
- Lead and measure all daily processes to ensure order fulfillment and production are completed with excellence.
- Support local sales representatives and sales leadership to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Provide timely responses to service failures and customer concerns.
- Support the Sr. Director of Operations with resolving customer complaints registered through the OSI process.
- Support all human resource processes at the local facility, including sourcing and staffing, performance management, compensation administration, and training and development.
- Create a culture that promotes positive employee relations; exposure to confidential and salary information for warehouse staff.
- Ensure safe practices are in place, including safety meetings, housekeeping, record keeping, and compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Manage exempt and non-exempt employees to achieve company goals while maintaining compliance with policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the financial aspect of Distribution Center Operations by controlling expenses and preserving assets.
- Oversee major projects, programs, and outcomes with budget responsibility.
- Interpret and execute policies; develop, recommend, and implement new or modified policies.
- Provide guidelines and parameters for staff functioning, including hiring, performance reviews, training, and workload assignment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years of management experience with demonstrated abilities leading and developing subordinates and engaging/supporting warehouse team members, or
- High School diploma or equivalent and at least 7 years of management experience with demonstrated abilities leading and developing subordinates and engaging/supporting warehouse team members.
Skills
- Effective communicator in group and individual settings; strong writing and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to model effective leadership.
- High sense of urgency; capable of handling multiple priorities and extensive time demands.
- High level of personal integrity.
- Ability to navigate complex situations involving multiple decision-makers.
- Experience in customer relations and leading work environments that embrace positive employee relations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a large distribution center environment.
Pay
Anticipated salary range: $116,000 – $174,000 annually. Actual salary will vary based on location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible.
