About the role
The Sr. Member Solutions Specialist (bankruptcy) handles all notifications, documents, calls, hearings, and legal filings related to bankruptcy when members file. They ensure Unitus meets and upholds federal bankruptcy laws, protecting members' assets and mitigating losses.
Responsibilities
- Handle notifications, documents, calls, hearings, and legal filings related to bankruptcy.
- Work with members, legal counsel, trustees, and the court regularly.
- Support the Member Solutions team with inbound calls and additional tasks.
- Maintain spreadsheets for repossessions and write-offs.
- Balance GLs for write-off, negative share write-off, and pay-by-phone processing.
- Meet department goals for delinquency, write-off, and recovery.
- Provide backup support for bankruptcy, repossession, hardship modifications, and charge-off and recovery assignments.
- Balance high workload and call volume.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent certificate.
- Minimum of 6 years related experience in a financial institution, including bankruptcy, repossession, judgements, small claims, hardship modifications, charge-off and recovery.
- Experience in financial statement understanding and analysis.
- Formal certification or education related to the collections field.
- Bilingual language skills (not required).
