About the Role

Join Amgen’s mission to serve patients living with serious illnesses. As a Sr. Medical Science Liaison, IgG4 - Rare Disease, you’ll play a vital role in establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships with prominent experts and clinicians in the Lower Plains territory (NE, KS, MO). You’ll serve as a scientific liaison to the medical/scientific community, communicating the scientific and commercial value of our products while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Network and partner with external customers, including medical thought leaders, academic institutions, and managed care decision-makers, in compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Communicate scientific/medical information and the commercial value of products to the medical community and internal audiences.
  • Prioritize and work effectively in a self-directed manner, adapting to a constantly changing environment.
  • Pair customers’ unmet needs with available internal resources.
  • Collaborate with functional areas to identify opportunities for scientific, medical, and health economic information sharing.
  • Identify and train potential new speakers for sponsored external programs.
  • Participate in national and regional conferences to support medical/clinical strategy and maintain relationships with key investigators.
  • Evaluate and facilitate external clinical research collaboration opportunities, including investigator-initiated trials (IITs) and company-sponsored trials.
  • Monitor the competitive environment and provide feedback to senior leadership on industry trends and initiatives.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree & 2 years of Medical Affairs experience
  • OR Master’s degree & 6 years of Medical Affairs experience
  • OR Bachelor’s degree & 8 years of Medical Affairs experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered)
  • 2+ years in a medical science liaison role in biotech or pharmaceutical
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel up to 60%
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and adaptability to new business applications
  • Professional, proactive demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
