Medical Science Liaison, IgG4 - Rare Disease - Georgia

About the role

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in the IgG4 - Rare Disease space covering the Georgia territory, you will serve as a scientific liaison to the medical and scientific community. You will establish, develop, and maintain relationships with prominent experts and clinicians, network with key external customers, and effectively communicate scientific and medical information in alignment with compliance, legal, and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with medical thought leaders, academic institutions, large group practices, medical directors, managed care decision makers, and pharmacy directors.
• Understand, integrate, and communicate scientific and medical information, as well as the commercial value of products, to the medical community and other key audiences.
• Prioritize and work effectively in a self-directed manner in a constantly changing environment, including obtaining, integrating, and communicating customer feedback.
• Pair customers' unmet needs with available internal resources.
• Collaborate with all functional areas to identify opportunities and needs that can be addressed via scientific, medical, and health economic information.
• Identify and train potential new speakers on scientific content for sponsored external speaker programs.
• Participate in national and regional conferences, meetings, and other scientific venues to support Medical/Clinical strategy, gather competitive intelligence, and maintain relationships with key investigators.
• Evaluate potential external clinical research collaboration opportunities and facilitate the conduct of investigator-initiated trials (IITs) and company-sponsored trials in conjunction with medical affairs and clinical development teams.
• Monitor the competitive environment for advances and trends in therapeutic areas, including new treatment management, therapies, and competitive products, and provide feedback to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree and 3 years of Medical Affairs experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Medical Affairs experience.

Qualifications

• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered).
• 2 years of proven experience in scientific or medical affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
• Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including strong networking abilities.
• Ability to travel up to 60% for territory management, conferences, workshops, and company meetings.
• Ability to work up to 15-hour days due to travel requirements.
• Proficiency in learning new business applications across hardware tools (e.g., PC, iPad).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Professional, proactive demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
