Medical Science Liaison, IgG4 - Rare Disease - Georgia

About the Role

In this vital role, you will serve as a scientific liaison to the medical and scientific community, establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships with prominent experts and clinicians throughout the Georgia territory. You will work to understand, integrate, and effectively communicate scientific and medical information, aligning with compliance, legal, and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Network and partner with external customers, including medical thought leaders, academic institutions, large group practices, medical directors, managed care decision makers, and pharmacy directors.
• Communicate scientific, medical, and commercial value of products to the medical community and key internal and external audiences.
• Prioritize and work effectively in a self-directed manner in a constantly changing environment, including obtaining, integrating, and communicating customer feedback.
• Pair customers’ unmet needs with available internal resources.
• Collaborate with all functional areas to identify opportunities and needs addressable via scientific, medical, and health economic information.
• Identify and train potential new speakers on scientific content for sponsored external speaker programs.
• Participate in national and regional conferences, meetings, and scientific venues to support Medical/Clinical strategy, gather competitive intelligence, and maintain relationships with key investigators.
• Evaluate potential external clinical research collaboration opportunities and facilitate investigator-initiated trials (IITs) and company-sponsored trials in conjunction with medical affairs and clinical development teams.
• Monitor the competitive environment for advances and trends in therapeutic areas, providing feedback to senior leadership on competitor initiatives.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree & 3 years of Medical Affairs experience OR Bachelor’s degree & 5 years of Medical Affairs experience.
• Ability to travel up to 60% for territory management, conferences, and company meetings.
• Ability to work up to 15-hour days due to travel requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new business applications across hardware tools (e.g., PC, iPad).

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered).
• 2+ years of proven experience in scientific or medical affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
• Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a strong ability to network.
• Professional, proactive demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
