Sr. Medical Physicist (Palm Springs, CA)

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Medical Physicist (Palm Springs, CA) to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This role will support a clinical oncology environment with a strong emphasis on radiation safety, treatment planning, and dosimetry quality assurance. The Sr. Medical Physicist will collaborate closely with physicians and clinical staff to ensure accurate, safe, and effective patient care. The position also contributes to commissioning, performance improvement, and the ongoing optimization of physics protocols and systems.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate dose meters and radiation equipment for quality assurance
• Prepare data for treatment planning systems and improve dosimetric protocols
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations
• Participate in the development of performance improvement activities and standards
• Assist in acceptance testing and re-commissioning of new machines
• Perform treatment planning, dosimetry calculations, and reviews
• Provide physics consultation for patient care to clinical staff

Qualifications

• Located in or willing to relocate to Palm Springs, CA, or the surrounding area
• M.S. or PhD in Medical Physics or a closely related field required
• Minimum 5+ years of clinical experience plus a CAMPEP-accredited residency
• Passing scores on Part-I and possibly Part-II ABR Exams preferred
• Experience with High Dose Rate (HDR) and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) preferred
• Desirable computer system administration experience with patient record databases
• Certification in Radiation Oncology Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or eligibility for board certification within three years

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $266,850 – $366,916 annually
