About the role

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer, Water Products in the Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC areas.

Position Summary

This role supports the Commercial sales team and customers with complex engineering and design problems, focusing on a new domestic water heating product. The person will serve as the Business Unit's subject matter expert, providing technical support, training, and competitive analysis.

Essential Functions

• Act as the subject matter expert and lead the project management process on commercial domestic water heating products.
• Provide technical and application support for commercial water heating products through the creation of technical materials, application training, competitive analysis, and design best practices for the BU sales team and external customers.
• Support the BU sales team, METUS distribution, and the HVAC specification community by resolving complex application and technical design challenges.
• Develop engineering and application white papers addressing specific issues and concerns in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.
• Collaborate with other BU Mechanical Engineers and METUS Applications Team to develop technical materials to solve customer concerns.
• Work as a liaison between the BU Sales team and METUS Applications and Product Development teams to provide product ideas, evaluate technical documentation, and present application ideas for evaluation.
• Collaborate with BU Management to define annual requirements (budget, software, and hardware investments, etc.) to support the BU.
• Willing to travel up to 30% for various Company meetings and training both domestically and possibly internationally.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or similar technical degree from ABET accredited engineering program.
• Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline, preferred.
• 10+ years of HVAC or plumbing mechanical engineering or application engineering experience, specifically in the space heating or domestic water heating concentration.
• Self-motivated, with a desire to start on the ground floor with a unique product.
• Experience with engineering software tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace 3D Plus, is preferred.
• Understanding of HVACR and psychometrics concepts, in addition to plumbing, is ideal.
• P.E. license and/or LEED A.P. accredited professional preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of managing technical and complex products from an application or engineering standpoint.
• Experience in project management preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD, energy modeling software, and Revit experience preferred.
• Strong communication, technical writing, and presentation/training skills.

Pay

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $111,200 and $152,900 per year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
