Position Summary

The purpose of the Sr Material Handler job is to be responsible for all activities related to the dispensing of raw materials per specifications. The job requires adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) to ensure the quality and quantity of the product produced.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently and collaboratively dispenses raw materials according to specifications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in production processes.
  • Verifies labels against batch records to guarantee proper material identification and traceability.
  • Accurately documents the dispensing process in alignment with formulas and SOPs to maintain reliable records.
  • Safely and efficiently load and unload raw materials.
  • Maintains a high level of attention to detail to ensure compliance with necessary procedures and appropriate documentation including accurate scaling, measuring and sampling.
  • Conducts or assists with overflow jobs in the operations department when needed.
  • Understands inventory requirements and adjusts accordingly.
  • Provides mentorship and assistance to peers as needed, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.
  • Takes initiative in problem-solving and decision-making, escalating issues to supervisors when necessary to ensure operational success.
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail while performing data entry tasks using paper records, electronic devices, PC hardware/software, iPads etc.
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures, and safety standards to ensure a clean, organized work environment while maintaining consistent attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience And Education Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a prior factory environment preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
  • Ability to utilize and understand basic digital devices such as computers, iPad, etc.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures inclusive of Nestle’s Life Saving Rules.
  • Proficiency in English to comply with verbal and written directions, signs, policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of material handling and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments, fostering cross-functional engagement to meet expectations effectively.

  • Overtime may be required based on business needs.
  • Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals and food allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish and shellfish.
