Sr. Marketing Proposal Manager

About the role
Meade is looking for a Senior Marketing Proposal Manager to own our proposal function. You will lead the proposal process, determine which pursuits we chase, shape how we tell our story, and ensure what goes out the door gives us a real shot at winning. You'll work directly with principals and use data-backed judgment to recommend where the firm should allocate resources. Final go/no-go decisions rest with leadership, but your assessment of fit and win probability will drive those conversations. This is a senior role requiring strategic decision-making and the ability to defend your recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Pipeline strategy: Own the firm’s opportunity pipeline strategy, prioritizing pursuits based on fit, win probability, and strategic value to the firm’s vertical and geographic growth goals. Build recommendations for leadership’s go/no-go decisions by leading decision meetings with principals and BD leadership, incorporating market intelligence and competitive analysis.
- Proposal leadership and content strategy: Develop win themes with principals and project managers, translating technical capability into compelling client narratives. Oversee every proposal, SOQ, and RFP response for consistency and quality. Build and maintain a content library (boilerplate, resumes, past performance) to streamline future proposals. Manage subconsultant and teaming partner input alongside the bid project manager. Lead interview prep, including presentations and coaching.
- Quality and process: Serve as the final quality control checkpoint before submissions go to leadership. Set and enforce QA/QC standards, refine templates, and improve processes to increase team efficiency and win rates.
- Cross-functional work: Collaborate with BD and principal staff to align proposal strategy with business development goals. Own win/loss tracking, conduct debriefs that yield actionable insights, and report pipeline health and win rates to leadership.
Requirements
- 7+ years in AEC proposals/marketing, with direct experience inside an engineering firm, architecture firm, or general contractor.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, architecture, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record leading complex, high-value RFP/RFQ pursuits from start to finish.
- Experience managing or working within a proposal team.
- Advanced skills in InDesign, Word, and PowerPoint; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Executive presence: ability to confidently present and defend your position with principals.
- Strong writing and editing skills to transform technical details into engaging narratives.
Pay
The pay range for this position varies by location and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local laws. Actual compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, geographic location, and business needs. Estimated pay ranges for this role are:
- Virginia: $119,800–$154,000
- Washington: $125,600–$161,400
