Job Summary and Objective
The Sr Maintenance Technician is responsible for the timely, efficient, and accurate preventive maintenance of all machines and equipment with the ability to perform in all areas of their job duties as listed below under Essential Functions.
Essential Functions
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with management about technical details, questions, and ideas
- Notify Supervisor or Manager in a timely manner of observed or reported machine and / or technical problems
- Understand the workflow concept of the entire Lab operations
- Operate most equipment without supervision to include but not limited to air compressors, blockers, polishers, generators, engravers, non-dip backside coaters and Microsoft windows-based computers
- Calibrate and put into operation above listed equipment without supervision upon completion of training
- Perform basic troubleshooting and simple repairs without supervision on all above listed equipment and other equipment and devices as needed upon completion of training
- Perform routine, scheduled and emergency maintenance under limited supervision on all above listed equipment and other equipment and devices as needed upon completion of training
- Understand and use technical documentation such as parts lists, maintenance guides and exploded drawings
- Follow approved safety instructions, practices, and procedures
- Maintain lines of communication with Supervisor and / or Manager using valid email address and current phone number
Ability to Work Extended/Overtime Hours
Work extended / overtime hours as business needs dictate

Qualifications
- Required Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older +Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalentSix (6) months of optical manufacturing experience or prior equipment maintenance experience in a technical or manufacturing environment, as determined relevant by management
- Desired Qualifications: Training in industrial maintenance at a technical school
Physical Demands
- Sit, stand, walk, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus is required
Work Environment
- Work is predominately conducted indoors and may occasionally be conducted outdoors with varying environmental conditions
- Noise level is usually moderate

Compensation and Benefits
- The anticipated base salary range for this position is $18.00 to $26.62 per hour.
- This represents the good-faith estimate of the compensation range at the time of posting. - This position may also be eligible for a bonus and/or commission plan, subject to the terms of the applicable plan.
