Sr. Manufacturing Engineer
About the role
The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading manufacturing engineering activities that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and overall production performance. This role supports existing manufacturing processes, drives continuous improvement, leads equipment and process improvement projects, and provides technical direction for production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing engineering support for assigned production cells, product lines, and manufacturing processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce downtime, improve first-pass yield, and reduce manufacturing cost.
- Support daily production needs by troubleshooting equipment, process, tooling, fixture, and quality-related issues.
- Develop, improve, and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, tooling, fixtures, and production equipment.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing defects, customer escapes, scrap, rework, and process failures.
- Partner with Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Design Engineering, and Production teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Lead or support capital equipment projects, including equipment justification, specification, vendor selection, installation, qualification, training, and production launch.
- Improve labor routings, standard work, cycle times, and manufacturing documentation to support accurate costing and production planning.
- Support ERP/JDE-related manufacturing data needs, including routings, work centers, item setup, and process documentation as required.
- Develop and maintain process validation, test, inspection, and control methods to ensure consistent product quality.
- Drive Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, visual management, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to manufacturing engineers, technicians, operators, and maintenance personnel.
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet safety, quality, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Use data-driven methods to track performance, identify trends, and prioritize improvement opportunities.
- Support departmental KPI goals related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in an industrial, electromechanical, automation, or high-mix manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience with process improvement, production support, tooling, fixtures, equipment troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Experience leading manufacturing projects from concept through implementation.
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, standard work, and continuous improvement tools.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, test processes, quality controls, and production flow.
- Experience with ERP systems, labor routings, work centers, and manufacturing master data preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automation, robotics, test equipment, machine design, or electromechanical systems.
- Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software.
- Experience supporting capital equipment projects and writing capital expenditure justifications.
- Experience with data analysis, KPI tracking, Power BI, Excel, or similar tools.
- Experience with JDE or similar ERP systems.
- Experience in a regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environment.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and support production needs on the shop floor.
- Ability to occasionally lift, move, or handle equipment, tooling, fixtures, or production-related materials as required.
- Ability to work at a computer, review technical documentation, and spend time on the production floor.
- Occasional overtime or off-shift support may be required based on production or project needs.
Success Measures
Success in this role will be measured by improvements in manufacturing performance, including reduced downtime, improved quality, reduced scrap and rework, improved labor efficiency, successful project execution, accurate manufacturing documentation, and strong cross-functional support of production operations.

Pay Range
The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 83400.00-155000.00
