Sr. Manufacturing Engineer
About the role
The Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer at Quantic Ohmega is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing systems and equipment to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. This role involves collecting and analyzing production data, conducting product and material testing, supporting quality assurance, leading improvement initiatives, and providing technical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Continuously improve existing manufacturing systems and equipment to enhance operational efficiency and reduce overall costs.
- Collect and analyze production data using statistical methods to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions that increase productivity.
- Conduct product and material testing for internal teams and outside customers. Coordinate with external testing services when necessary.
- Provide quality assurance guidance throughout manufacturing and testing stages to ensure compliance with established procedures, standards, and techniques.
- Create and maintain essential documentation, including production records, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and testing reports for products and materials.
- Lead improvement initiatives involving manufacturing equipment (hardware and/or software) to increase reliability and performance.
- Evaluate and implement safety-focused processes and procedures to minimize operational risks and enhance workplace safety for production staff and facilities.
- Provide technical expertise and support related to OhmegaPly, including the processing of customer parts through the Ohmega Etch Process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing engineering environment
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Experience using IPC Quality Standards
- Experience performing MIL Testing Standards
- CAM350 or similar MCAD/ECAD tools proficiency
- SolidWorks (3D Modeling) skills
- Excellent analytical and technical mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Project Management
- Proficient with computers and information technology
- Hardware Skills (Power tools, Soldering Iron, DAQS, Power Supplies, Testing equipment)
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 6 Sigma, SPC, or similar tools
