Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end NPI efforts, translating product designs into scalable, high-quality manufacturing solutions in a customer-centric Utilities & Energy environment.
  • Partner collaboratively with design, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure strong DFM/DFA/DFT and production readiness.
  • Plan and execute prototype builds and pilot runs, identifying risks and resolving issues with an agile and accountable approach.
  • Develop and standardize manufacturing processes, work instructions, inspection plans, and validation protocols.
  • Conduct FMEA/PFMEA, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and reliability.
  • Align with global suppliers and contract manufacturers to support material readiness and production ramps.
  • Manage product lifecycle activities including BOMs, variants, and ECO/MCO changes using PLM/ERP systems.
  • Drive value engineering, cost optimization, and adoption of innovative manufacturing technologies (automation, Industry 4.0).

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of NPI, sustaining, or manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience with BOM creation, configuration management, and PLM/ERP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA/DFT, process development, and manufacturing scale-up.
  • Proficiency in FMEA/PFMEA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, and root cause analysis (8D, 5 Why).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and global contract manufacturers.
  • Technical proficiency in: NPI phase-gate processes, process validation, GR&R, and capacity planning; Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement; Data analysis and tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python); PLM, ERP, MES systems; Minitab/JMP; Visio/process mapping tools; CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD); Jira/Azure DevOps.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an authentic, inclusive, and collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of NPI or manufacturing engineering experience in electronics or high-reliability products.
  • Certifications such as PMP or Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt).
  • Experience with advanced quality tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC).
  • Exposure to automation, robotics, vision systems, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Proven ability to lead complex product ramps and influence cross-functional teams with an innovative and customer-focused mindset.
