About the role

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa’s network clients, including both financial services and merchants. The NA Consulting Practice within VCA provides consulting and solution services for Visa’s largest issuers in the United States, applying deep expertise in the banking, payments, and analytics industry to assist clients with key business priorities, drive growth, and improve profitability.

The VCA team is looking for a Sr Manager to join the Community FI segment and develop high-impact projects for Visa’s clients in the North America region. This individual will be responsible for selling consulting engagements as well as delivering and implementing projects and solutions with large US Financial Institutions / Issuing Banks. The role focuses on developing strategies such as market penetration, profitability analysis, segmentation, growth, product development, program launch, customer acquisition, lifecycle optimization, retention, and enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with Visa internal teams in regular strategic and planning discussions.
  • Manage a sales pipeline within an identified list of client targets and sell consulting work against a sales target.
  • Collaborate with other Visa teams for account planning, including Account Executives and Client Marketing, as well as other VCA delivery teams.
  • Lead initiatives to identify potential opportunities with Issuing Bank and Credit Union partners and contribute to closing deals for engagement work.
  • Work with other delivery partners to determine collaborative Visa solutions that help clients solve key growth initiatives.
  • Maintain internal records in various systems for pricing approvals, internal routing, legal/funding approvals, and updating for proper revenue recognition.
  • Contribute to consulting project work, playing a lead or contributor role by:
    • Identifying required timelines, resources, and SMEs to align with key elements defined in a Business Initiative Addendum/Statement of Work.
    • Building a storyline to help clients link insights to recommendations.
    • Developing frameworks, approaches, solutions, and recommendations that address impactful opportunities and challenges.
    • Creating actionable insights to help clients grow their portfolios and customer engagement.
  • Partner with peers in functional areas (marketing, sales, risk, innovation, new flows) and across global regional teams to execute projects leveraging Visa’s resources.
  • Produce insights, analyses, and recommendations to improve client performance, boost growth, and provide strategic guidance.
  • Analyze large data sets (industry and Visa) to derive meaningful insights and recommendations for clients.
  • Build scalable solutions, toolkits, best practice documents, and consulting approaches applicable across the VCA practice.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated, highly energized, and detail-oriented individual capable of delivering strategic thought leadership and high-impact solutions.
  • Ability to develop enduring, strategic relationships with internal and external clients across the Visa organization.
  • Demonstrated experience closing sales and understanding of the debit/credit payments space, particularly within the Community FI client segment.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and work in an office setting at least 3 days per week.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or
  • At least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or
  • 2 years of work experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or
  • 7 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or
  • 3 or more years of experience with a PhD.
  • Relevant experience at a large management consulting firm or US Financial Institution.
  • Payments/Financial Services experience.
  • Strong analytical/quantitative background with experience working with financial indicators to measure business performance.
  • Significant focus on impacting ROI.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • Team player with a technology mindset, curiosity, and awareness of digital trends and applications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking operations and/or payment schemes, including products & services, business systems, processes, marketing initiatives, and card issuing experience.

Pay

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $130,600 to $221,600 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
