Sr Manager – Retirement Plans Operations (PL)

Flexibility and change management are key aspects of the Sr Operations Manager role. The ideal candidate will need to be equally able to adapt and lead in high-volume environments and be comfortable with direct interaction with clients and service team members, networking internally to research and resolve client operational issues, all while moving the team forward to new opportunities.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with internal partners across multiple locations
- Ensure service levels and client needs are met or exceeded daily
- Continuously identify opportunities for efficiency and operational excellence
- Develop operational specialists to ensure all goals and objectives are met while cultivating the Schwab culture
- Direct supervisory responsibilities over 7+ direct reports, maintaining an engaging team approach
- Ensure all functions are performed in a timely and accurate manner within Schwab policies and procedures
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
- Provide employee development through feedback, coaching, oversight, supervision, and performance evaluations
- Participate in ongoing planning and direction of the teams and service offer
- Help establish a dedicated support model for beneficiaries
Requirements
- 5+ years of leadership experience and proficiency
- 10+ years of work experience, preferably in financial services, operations, or client service
- Proven experience with formal efficiency or quality programs (a plus)
- Skills in coaching and developing people at all performance levels via established performance objectives, consistent feedback, and appropriate recognition
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, and strong work ethic with a high level of integrity and ethics
- Change management expertise and a transformational mindset
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills to apply sound judgment daily
- Ability to think strategically and analyze a variety of factors and metrics when making global decisions for the department
- Sound judgment in ambiguous situations
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven engagement and followership, with clear evidence of sustained success in dynamic teams
- Prior experience working in an environment requiring multitasking and effective prioritization
