About the Role

The Sr. Manager of Retail is responsible for setting the vision and tactical strategy for the US Retail business. As the P&L owner for the Retail channel, this leader oversees financial management and operational execution of all aspects of the Retail business unit. This role adopts an omni-channel perspective, collaborating with eCommerce and wholesale channels to create a frictionless customer journey. The leader will develop disruptive physical engagement strategies that push the boundaries of traditional retail, creating immersive experiences that engage fans. Additionally, this role inspires a diverse team of direct and indirect reports to align with a common vision, understand financial and operational objectives, and drive excellence in execution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop key financial and strategic inputs into the KEEN Inc. long-range plan to drive growth for the owned retail channel.
  • Build and manage the team structure and personnel for each retail location.
  • Oversee recruitment, management, and retention of retail staff and leaders.
  • Own the P&L from top to bottom-line across all physical retail footprints.
  • Manage forecasting, line planning, segmentation, and inventory to meet financial and inventory objectives, partnering with cross-functional teams for consistency and turn management.
  • Oversee and manage the visual merchandising plan and calendar, ensuring key initiatives are represented across the retail footprint.
  • Build advertising and marketing plans to drive traffic through community partnerships, local activations, and marketing channels.
  • Partner with Digital Marketing and Brand Marketing teams to develop integrated campaign moments for physical retail locations.
  • Identify key pain points and feedback from customers and develop processes to share insights across the organization.
  • Develop cross-channel marketing, merchandising, acquisition/retention, and fan engagement experiences in partnership with the DTC leadership team.
  • Drive an innovation agenda to prototype and scale new retail concepts.
  • Create processes and procedures for retail operations, inventory management, campaign execution, and financial management.
  • Develop detailed reporting on financial results and operational KPIs.
  • Manage payroll and labor processes to balance staffing and financial performance.
  • Create and execute training and onboarding programs for all levels of retail staff, including organizing retail summits for education and brand strategy alignment.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of retail experience required; experience in the footwear industry preferred.
  • Three (3) years of retail and personnel management experience, including managing distributed teams and driving measurable results.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

Pay

Base Salary: $101,430.00 - $107,065.00 yearly. The salary range represents the anticipated hiring range for this role. Offers are made within this range based on relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, and market considerations.

Schedule

This role is based in the Portland, OR area and requires residing within a reasonable commuting distance of the Portland office. The position generally works on-site five days per week, with flexibility based on business and team needs.
